I admit, I have been away for a few months..so this might not be all that new, but in searching the Sigler webpage, I noticed a kick butt new finish on the wildly popular Hybrid kit from Custom Classic!

Hey guys this is MachineHead. Changed my user name...long story. ANYWAY...I have seen this exact kit at the local Sigler store and it is SWEEEEEET!!!!!! It is absolutely beautiful.

As fortune would have it, I received my Pro Birch Hybrid kit in Sunset Burst just yesterday! I am in the process of assembling it, and I hope to have pics for you this weekend. It is indeed a beautiful and striking color. And seeing the wood grain through the glossy lacquer is just stunning!

No kidding if that kit had been ot when I got mine...I would have got that one.

I'm here to tell ya that the Pro Maples are indeed awesome, just for your information. Were waiting for those pics beejay. Really sucks about your recent experience regarding that commie chat site Drumchat. Lets see how long I will last there now in light of what happened to you. CC's rule!

So, I'm setting this new kit up and I'm doing some quick math in my head. This 6 pc hybrid kit w\hardware sells for $499.99, including shipping. Now, assuming the hardware alone would sell for at least $200.00, that would mean the 6 pc shell pack was $299.99. I challenge anyone to show us a 6 pc birch kit w\suspended toms and a lacquer finish for $299.99! Put simply, that is an incredible and unbeatable value!! From what I can see the 5 pc Yamaha Stage Custom Birch shell kit for $649 is the closest rival. Add in another floor tom and that kit would run at least $800! Is my math correct? $300 vs $800?

Woops! Wait a minute! The Mapex Meridian Birch 5pc shell pack sells for $589. Add in the second floor tom and we're probably somewhere around $725. So, $300 for the CC vs. $725 for the Mapex.......$425 still seems like an awful steep premium for a name.

Yeah dude, that's a real sawwwweeeeett deal. No matter how you crunch the numbers, the value is still there, right? So far they all are. Crisp bearing edges, nearly flawless lacquer finishes, double braced hardware. Tight hoops, easy tuning, quality drum kit for a great price. If Mr. Ward wanted to, he could mainline market these kits easily. But he chooses not to incur the cost which would then transfer that cost along to the kits. It's hard not to get pumped about these kits, eh? People that haven't taken the chance or are stuck on the "brand name" treadmill are missing out on an awesome opportunity I think. That's why it is up to us in part to spread the word as best as we can. We need pictures man, pictures!

I know, I know! Pics are coming! I keep getting interrupted, and I just got back from GC where I bought an Aquarian SuperKick I and some Moon Gels. I'm back at it after some lunch (and possibly a short nap).

October 15th will not get here soon enuff!

Basically 1 new kit a year, right? You go through kits quicker than I go through underware.....wait a minute....ewwwww. No seriously, you deserve it for what you recently had to go thru. Go for it. I can't wait for you. CC's rule.

You hit it on the head, Beejay. I pondered, researched, pondered more... until I finally decided I would be stupid to sink $1000 in a kit that was no better than the CCs. yeah I would get the "brand name" but it has been my experience that when you sale a beginner to intermediate range kit you just don't get near as much as what you got in it. I looked around and the only kit I could find that was in the 'hyper drive" size shells with two floor toms and hardware that wasn't over a grand was the CCs, plus they were in the finish I wanted...well until the Sunburst finish came out!!!!

Deserve??? Prolly not so much. Need? absolutely! I will have the cash together oct 15.. barring any more set backs! ordering them and hopefully they will get here by the 19th. I have gig commitments!

Please excuse my hideous blue converted attic walls, as well as the smudged and fingerprinted hardware. It's hot here today and I was sweating like a stuffed pig up there, and I didn't have time to polish things up first. Also, I had to deal with the damage I did today (see last two pics). While I was up there I discovered my ducting was leaking in a few places, so I started taping up the gaps. But then I tripped and stepped through the dywall. Now I have that to deal with! But I'm not going to attribute that to the new drums since I was technically peforming home improvement repairs.

I think I am gonna cry...this is a proud day in CC Land.

A beautiful kit indeed. Do you feel ten feet taller when you sit behind it????
